There are many Kiwis who will recall tree-hugging Bogor the woodsman, and the dope-growing hedgehog – it was a delightful comic strip by Burton Silver that ran in The Listener for 21 years.

Now the Wellington bush at Karaka Bays that inspired the comic strip characters is up for sale, after more than 100 years in the Silver family.

Silver says he was living on his own on the land, in the humble ’50s bach built by his father, when he started the strip in 1972.
