Police investigating the disappearance of Christchurch real estate agent Yanfei Bao have arrested someone and charged them with kidnapping.

The person was arrested at an airport and it’s understood they were planning to leave the country.

While out door knocking to drum up business, the Harcourts agent suddenly disappeared without leaving any clues behind. Detective Inspector Nicola Reeves expressed growing concern for Bao during a media conference held late this afternoon. Bao had failed to pick up her child that day, and her car was discovered parked on Iroquois Place, close to the location where she was last seen.

Police are searching a third property in connection with the disappearance of Christchurch real estate agent Yanfei Bao, as her alleged kidnapper is set to appear in court.
