The Waikato company transforming a former quarry and landfill into a new residential development say the 1.6ha site is clear of contamination and safe for people to move in.
Progressive Property has managed an extensive remediation project on the site, which borders Taylor, Vogel and King streets in Cambridge.
It is the last piece of land inside the Cambridge town belt to be developed for housing. All other residential projects are planned outside the belt, expanding the town’s boundary.
The Taylor St site was once a quarry which provided sand to build some of the first sealed roads around Waikato and the trotting track at the neighbouring Cambridge Raceway.
