Bunnings has won approval to build a trade supplies warehouse at Queenstown after the Environment Court agreed it would benefit competition and it fitted with nearby developments.
The decision gives Bunnings a second foothold in the lower South Island against rivals such as Placemakers and Mitre 10 Mega.
It followed Bunnings’ recent success when the High Court disallowed the “trade rival” owner of a Mitre 10 Mega to object, and awarded Bunnings $60,000 in court costs.
