Two censured real estate agents, one of whom was ordered to return $14,000 after double dipping on commissions, have had their appeals thrown out by the Real Estate Agents Disciplinary Tribunal.
Auckland-based Resort Brokers agent Kamal Sharma and director Wayne Keene were found to have engaged in unsatisfactory conduct by the Complaints Assessment Committee in November 2018. In April last year, the pair were censured by the Real Estate Authority.
The events related to May 2017 when Keene approached Grant Adams to sell his backpackers’ accommodation, Howard’s Lodge Limited in Ohakune.
When the sale went through, Adams paid a $55,000 commission and the buyer paid $30,000 for the same transaction.
