Chris Hemsworth, renowned for his iconic portrayal of Thor, has elevated his commitment to health and fitness by incorporating an extraordinary home gym into his $30 million Byron Bay estate.

This isn’t just a basic garage conversion — Hemsworth’s ‘The Shed’ is a comprehensive training facility and a creative hub for his successful fitness brand, Centr.
“The Shed is essentially the official Centr training gym,” said Luke Zocchi, Hemsworth’s personal trainer and business partner.
“It’s a dedicated space at his Byron Bay ranch where we experiment with new workouts, gear, and coaching approaches, all while having fun.”

For the past decade, Zocchi has had the privilege of being Hemsworth’s right-hand man. Credited with transforming Hemsworth into a musclebound god, Zocchi relocated to Byron Bay to support the Hemsworth-led wellness platform, Centr.
Centr, founded by Hemsworth, offers subscribers expert-driven training programs, personalized meal plans, guided meditations, and a supportive community. The platform leverages Hemsworth’s star power and his team of elite trainers, chefs, and wellness professionals to deliver a holistic approach to well-being.

The Ultimate Home Gym Designed by Chris and his team, the space is far from an ordinary home gym. “It’s definitely next level,” said Zocchi. “Chris ensured the latest and greatest Centr equipment is included.”
The light-filled, open space of the Hemsworth home gym rivals even the most luxurious urban fitness centers. Dedicated areas for agility drills, plyometrics, and other dynamic training methods share space with high-tech treadmills, power racks, weight benches, and cable machines — everything needed to sculpt superhero physiques.
“For the gear, it’s top-tier — equipment you’d want in any serious gym,” Zocchi added. “Some of it isn’t available in Australia yet but will be soon. It’s where Chris, the boys, and I can come for a session or just chill and recover when needed.”

For post-workout pampering, The Shed includes a sauna and ice baths to optimize muscle recovery. “Recovery is just as important as the workout itself,” Zocchi emphasized. “The ice bath and sauna are part of the process — cold for inflammation and muscle recovery, heat for relaxing and improving circulation. It’s about balancing pushing your limits and knowing when to let your body rest.”
Chris is big on mindfulness, reflecting his approach to fitness: combining physical and mental recovery to ensure overall well-being.
The Latest Addition to ‘Hemsworth Hills’ After purchasing his Broken Head estate for $7 million in 2014, Hemsworth and his wife Elsa Pataky built a mega-mansion. The 4.2-hectare estate features a media room, spa, games room, outdoor living areas, and six bedrooms.
The Hollywood couple also owns another 35-hectare site in Byron, currently under development. This expansive property led locals to dub the area ‘Hemsworth Hills.’

A Centr for Inspiration As someone whose biceps are as famous as his acting skills, Hemsworth’s Shed is more than a home gym; it’s the new epicenter for Centr’s content and equipment development.
“It’s our space to test new gear and programs,” Zocchi said. “For example, we’ve used the Centr x HYROX Official Competition Equipment and the Centr x HYROX Perform Tread to ensure it’s top-notch.”
Driving a Home Gym Trend The surge in dedicated home fitness spaces reflects a growing emphasis on health, wellness, and convenience. Home gyms have become a significant trend in Australian real estate, with buyers prioritizing properties that offer space for fitness areas.
“Home gyms have taken off recently,” said Zocchi. “People see the benefit of making fitness work for them without pricey gym memberships. It’s convenient and personal, setting up a space for both training and recovery.”

Centr, which began with an app, has expanded into physical equipment, all trialed by Hemsworth. “Expanding to physical equipment was a natural progression,” Zocchi explained. “Even modest spaces can achieve a wellness center with minimal, multifunctional gym equipment.”
“Now, with more people turning to home setups, the demand will grow. Brands offering affordable, high-quality gear are making this trend here to stay.”
