A well-known Blenheim building being renovated by a Christchurch couple has a rich history and was built by a Christchurch couple.
Haddin Court Flats, on the corner of Maxwell Road and Stephenson Street, was built in 1939 by W.J. Thompson and Co builders of Murphy’s Road, Blenheim.
A 1937 newspaper clipping, with an architect’s rendering of the flats has the headline “modern flats for Blenheim”.
Research from the Marlborough Museum said the flats were built for Mr J Haddin Barr, a dentist of 77 Hereford Street, Christchurch.
