Holly Lodge

PHOTO: LOWE & CO This is the first time Holly Lodge in Drummond Street has been formally listed for sale since the house was built 140 years ago.

Two Wellington couples found the perfect way to buy the house of their dreams – they pooled their resources and moved in together.

And they are proof such an arrangement can work well. But now, seven years on, one of the couples has two children and needs more space.

So the house has been formally listed for sale for the first time in 140 years, having been owned by just one family for most of that time.

These two Wellington couples have proved co-housing can work, sharing ownership of this stunning 1870s villa since 2013. They are now selling up. From left, Dan O'Donnell with Henry (4), Elizabeth Sherriff with Frances (5 months), Anthony Lander and Stephanie Foster.
