More than half of construction leaders are concerned about the state of their industry.

Master Builders talked to 33 chief executives about their views on the outlook for the economy and the building industry.

Over half thought the building sector was performing poorly or even terribly (42 per cent and 10 per cent), 29 per cent thought it was average and 19 per cent thought it was good.

No one thought it was excellent.

“With the demise of three of our larger construction companies in the last few months, I don’t think it’s doing too well,” Tony Doile, managing director of Armstrong Downes Commercial told Master Buillders.
