“Our staff located the group, who were allegedly painting graffiti on a portion of the site,” he stated. “All four individuals in the group were peacefully apprehended by our officers, and their equipment was confiscated.”
Among the detained individuals, a 30-year-old man was arrested and charged with wilful damage. He is scheduled to appear in the Auckland District Court later this week. The remaining three members of the group will be referred for supported resolution as part of a graduated response.

Inspector Christoffersen expressed appreciation for the public’s reports of the initial suspicious activity, which enabled the police to take action. He emphasized that there is no tolerance for vandalism targeting others’ property, particularly within a construction site where entering poses significant safety risks and engaging in such activities reflects a certain level of foolishness.
