The Environment Court has denied holiday home owner Hamish Doig permission to retain a toilet and shower in his Marlborough Sounds holiday boatshed.
The court found that the central issues were “domestication and privatisation of the coastal marine area”.
Doig, also the owner of Colliers International in Christchurch, was appealing the Marlborough District Council’s refusal to retrospectively approve his boat shed upgrade in Milton Bay, in the Bay of Many Coves, Queen Charlotte Sound.
