Cricket legend Steve Smith has reduced the price of his upscale Sydney beach residence by $500,000, as he and his wife, Dani Willis, faced challenges in selling it at the initial asking price of $7 million.
The 34-year-old sports icon, who acquired the bungalow for $3.5 million in 2019, has also canceled the auction date twice. The couple’s original price expectations have been revised to a private treaty price guide of $6.5 million, as reported by The Sunday Telegraph.

Despite the property on Gordan Place not finding a buyer, the listing is still managed by Tanya Hatton and Frank Colacicco from Bentley Estate Agents. Steve, aiming for another successful sale, previously sold his Vaucluse mansion for $12.38 million last year, doubling his initial 2020 purchase.
The Bronte property, listed last month, features four bedrooms, three bathrooms, and was initially set for auction last Saturday. Steve had anticipated a $7 million sale, reflecting the significant investment made in a major renovation after purchasing the property for $3.5 million in 2019.

Situated just 9 kilometers from the CBD and a short distance from Bronte Beach, the original California bungalow underwent a complete transformation, with Steve adding a second level, bathrooms, and a fourth bedroom. The mid-20th century dwelling now boasts a chic, ultra-modern resort-style design.

Highlights of the property include an expansive open-plan layout, European oak floors, a saltwater plunge pool, an undercover outdoor entertainment deck/BBQ area, a limestone terrace, and a heated outdoor shower. The kitchen is equipped with a breakfast island, marble benchtops, and an induction cooker.

The main bedroom on the second floor features a private balcony with stunning ocean views. According to documents submitted to Waverley Council by Daniel Sutton at Precision Planning, the renovations incurred a cost of $495,000.
