• A three-storey gem from Wellington’s Art Deco era is up for sale.

Reid House on the corner of Cuba and Vivian Sts was designed in 1930 for the draper DS Patrick, who remained there for many years.

Decades earlier Cuba St had become an important retail area, following the first tram service was established in 1878.

A construction boom in the late Victorian and early Edwardian era transformed the street and helped establish the character of the street, which is still visible in many of the buildings today.
