There were some sad faces in Martinborough when the small cottage in a meadow sold under the hammer on Friday, December 7, 2018.
Five keen bidders wanted the former schoolhouse that has been restored as a home, with two bidders holding out till the hammer came down at $531,000.
Listing agent Carl Fraser of Bayleys Greytown says that while the 68 square-metre house has an RV of $460,000, buyer feedback had indicated it would sell under $400,000.
