PHOTO: Progress on Lower Hutt’s four star hotel has been painfully slow. More than two years after it was supposed to be finished, it is little more than a pile of steel.
Developer Raman Sarin has not asked for money to finish the controversial Sebel hotel in Lower Hutt.
The lack of progress on the $15 million hotel was discussed at a council meeting on Tuesday evening.
Sarin is contracted to operate the city council’s newly opened $34 million events centre and to build a hotel.
The four star hotel is backed by the council, which spent $3.5 million clearing the site and was supposed to open in early 2017.
