A suspended Victoria Police officer continued to operate a real estate business despite being charged with and recently pleading guilty to 10 fraud offences, including dishonestly obtaining six properties.

Sergeant Rosa Catherine Rossi, 57, pleaded guilty on October 28 to deceiving locksmiths to fraudulently take possession of houses in Malvern East, Chadstone, Brooklyn and three rural properties in Willaura, about 230 kilometres west of Melbourne.

However, just nine days before entering the plea in the Melbourne Magistrates Court, Rossi attempted to buy a property near Geelong, which included an offer to settle the deal within a week and pay the vendor’s legal costs.

The disgraced police officer, who is suspended on full pay, claimed in a letter to the owner of the Lara property that she was “in the business of sourcing and purchasing investment properties and assisting vendors”.
