The ongoing saga surrounding the dismissal of a prominent real estate agent due to her Facebook posts has taken a new turn, implicating her sister. Aimee Therese Marsh, formerly a high-achieving real estate agent at Ray White Aspley, located near Griffin in the northern part of the city, was abruptly let go from her position on Tuesday. The Daily Mail obtained posts from her professional social media page in which she strongly criticized tenants, referring to them as a “disgrace” and “irrelevant.” In one message, she even concurred with another social media user who described tenants as “nobodies,” asserting that they likely earned around $50,000 annually and were envious of her success.

A man named Tom, who preferred not to disclose his full identity due to concerns about further retaliation, claimed that the real estate agent launched a bitter tirade against him, even urging him to “get a job.” She taunted him on Facebook, advising him to “get off social media and go make a living, then you can buy a house.” Tom, a military veteran who was medically discharged from the army and who suffers from anxiety and PTSD, expressed shock at Ms. Marsh’s comments and welcomed her termination. He believed that Ray White had made the right decision by letting her go.

However, Tom was taken aback when Ms. Marsh’s sister, Natalie, privately contacted him on Facebook to criticize him for calling out her sister’s unprofessional behavior. Although she claimed not to support her sister’s Facebook comments, Natalie believed that the response to the situation had been excessive. In a series of private Facebook messages, Ms. Marsh chastised the Afghanistan veteran, accusing him of playing dumb and labeling those offended by her sister’s posts as “soft” while alleging that they deliberately provoked her sister.

Natalie remarked, “I’m a renter and didn’t get offended,” and asserted that people nowadays were overly sensitive. Tom characterized her comments as out of touch, especially in the context of the housing crisis, and accused both women of displaying an “age of entitlement” attitude where they felt too important for their own good.

Ms. Marsh lost her job this week after her employer, Ray White, became aware of her controversial social media posts. A spokesperson for Ray White, Alex Tilbury, stated that Ms. Marsh’s views did not align with the company’s values, leading to the decision to terminate her employment. Ray White apologized to anyone who might have been offended by her views and offered Ms. Marsh counseling through their employee assistance program.

This incident represents a significant fall from grace for Ms. Marsh, who had received exceptional reviews from customers, with a rating of 4.9 out of 5 stars. Many customers lauded her as “Brisbane’s No. 1 agent” and praised her professionalism, communication skills, and commitment to her work. However, not all reviews were glowing, with some labeling her as unprofessional and noting her frequent sighing.
