A $6 million house in Auckland’s upmarket Arney Rd is being pulled into Inland Revenue’s battle for tax it is owed by former Dragons’ Den star Paul Webb.
Webb and his colleague Andrew Tauber were last year convicted of tax evasion, along with an unnamed third party. They lost their appeals against the convictions this year.
Webb and Tauber operated a group of companies called the Honk Group. In November last year, the commissioner obtained judgement against Webb for $26.3 million in unpaid taxes.
The Commissioner of Inland Revenue brought them back into court to argue that Yogi Trustee Company, a company that owns a house leased to Webb’s partner, should be returned to the companies’ register so that orders made against it could remain in place.
