There are warnings that mortgage repayments could rise as early as next year which could, analysts say, push millions of borrowers to the brink.
Certainly the Reserve Bank has made clear its intention to keep rates at record lows for the next few years at least. But the trends that are being identified could be beyond the bank’s power to influence.
