While the UK might be his home, Ed Sheeran is not shy about his love of New Zealand.

The superstar singer is currently self-isolating at home with his young daughter after they both caught Covid, but before all this happened he caught up with Seven Sharp’s Carolyn Robinson.

“I love New Zealand,” he told her.

“I only live here [in the UK] because I have a connection here, my wife’s from here, my parents live around the corner, so do hers, my best friends are here – if I didn’t have that connection I would live in Wellington. That’s my spot, I love it there,” Sheeran said.

And there’s one local gig he’s particularly keen on, saying if New Zealand opens up in time for Jacinda Ardern’s wedding, he’ll be there.

“Well I’ve got to get into the country first, right – I’m not going to skip the queue and come and play a wedding, but if it opens up and a wedding happens, I’m there.
