Real estate agencies around the country are doing it tough, Government wage subsidy data shows.
Data pulled from Work and Income’s Covid-19 Wage Subsidy Employer Search website reveals major real estate companies have claimed more than $6 million in subsidies.
Real estate tricks to negotiate COVID-19
Among those that made substantial claims were Colliers International New Zealand, which received more than $920,000 for 119 staff, Bayley’s Property Services, which received more than $338,000 for 49 staff, and Ray White (Real Estate), which claimed $91,000 for 13 staff.
Salespeople who are independent contractors – as most in the industry are – would have made their own, individual, claims on top of that.
