ASX-listed The Agency is in talks with several real estate agencies over a possible merger including the original stomping ground for some of its founding directors, McGrath.
While no deal has been struck, a tie-up between The Agency and McGrath would be a twist to what was one of the most watched splits in the Sydney agency sector.
A merger between the two would be ironic given the hasty departure of The Agency’s founding directors including ex-McGrath agents Matt Lahood, Ben Collier and Steven Chen in late 2016 after McGrath’s disastrous float which saw its share price plunge after it listed at $2.10 in late 2015.
