(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — The real estate company @ Properties has fired one of its Chicago agents because the company says she “acknowledged on social media that she took part in ‘storming the capitol.’”

But the agent, Libby Andrews, tells WBBM Newsradio she just went to Washington to support the president.

Andews said she sang the National Anthem with “other like-minded patriots” but recalls thinking the turnout was small where she was outside the building.

She posted a photo later saying, “After storming the capital a good glass of champagne is needed.” But Andrews said that’s just a phrase she and others used when they were singing on the steps of the Capitol.

The 56-year-old Andrews, at the airport in Washington Thursday, said she was shocked to hear she’d been fired by @ Properties.

“This company sent out an email to thousands of people, denigrating me and my reputation without even asking me if I did any of those things,” she said.

“They just accused me — they were libelous — they accused me of activities I did not do. Obviously, it was very effective on their part. It got to a lot of people because I’m getting called by a lot of people — yourself, news stations, reporters.
