First home buyers have effectively been locked out of Sydney’s housing market because of a “decade of undersupply”, according to the Daily Telegraph’s State Political Editor Anna Caldwell.

New South Wales has built nearly 100 fewer homes per 1,000 new residents than Queensland and Victoria over the past decade.

“What the Daily Telegraph has done today is expose this consistent undersupply issue,” Ms Caldwell said. “We talk a lot about the overheated real estate market here but underpinning it all is really a decade of undersupply.
