Homes.co.nz has run the numbers on properties around the country to determine how much homeowners have made in capital gains.

It found that five properties had handed their owners a wealth boost of more than $10m, based on their most recent sales price compared to an estimate of what they would sell for now.

Coutts’ property at 78 Tindalls Bay Rd in Whangaparaoa sold for $2.3m in 2012 and is now estimated at $14.5m. It is worth significantly more than its neighbours, which are valued at $2m or $3m.
