They bought a Victorian Gothic “castle” on impulse 15 years ago, undertook a massive restoration and turned it into a successful B&B, hosting more than 25,000 guests.
But now the owners of historic Warwick House in Nelson say they want their summers back.
With their children grown and living away from home, Nick and Jenny Ferrier are on their own in the mansion, albeit with guests. One of the largest private residences in New Zealand, the house was built in 1854 on land acquired in 1843. It is believed to be the oldest, biggest private property currently for sale in the country.
