The iconic “Home Alone” mansion is now on the market for $5.2 million.
The brick exterior of this Georgian-style home remains virtually identical to its appearance in the 1990 Christmas comedy.
Listed by Coldwell Banker Realty’s Dawn McKenna Group, the 9,126 square-foot home sits on just over half an acre in Winnetka, IL, a suburb of Chicago. The property, located on a picturesque, tree-lined street behind a wrought-iron gate, epitomizes classic Chicago suburban architecture.
Despite a renovation and expansion in 2018, the real estate agent emphasized that “the current owners took the utmost care in maintaining the architectural detail and integrity of the home’s most memorable and recognizable spaces.”
The current homeowners purchased the stately brick mansion in 2012 for $1.585 million, according to TMZ. Key areas such as the foyer, entry staircase, and formal living and dining rooms remain largely unchanged from their portrayal in the Macaulay Culkin-led family film. However, the home also boasts a substantial addition to accommodate modern living.
New features include a sun-drenched family room with 10′ 4″ coffered ceilings and walls of French doors opening to the inviting backyard. The gourmet kitchen is outfitted with double islands, bespoke white cabinetry, a hidden pantry, and an eight-burner Wolf range, along with an integrated Sub-Zero fridge and an impressive built-in banquette.
