It’s the perfect buy for the person that has it all – their very own bowling club.

One year shy of its 75th anniversary, the Raumati South Bowls Club has closed its doors, sold its astroturf and is about to hit the market.

Mounting maintenance, declining membership and an ageing voluntary workforce were behind the difficult decision, club president Bob Darragh said.

“It is very sad but it was a brave decision. We could have kept going for a few more years but we had to be realistic.”

Included in the Kāpiti Coast property are two greens, outdoor seating and clubrooms but Darragh was realistic about its future.
