This week marks the commencement of sales for apartments and villas in the upscale Elizabeth Towers, a $200 million-plus development located in Tauranga CBD. The real estate partner leading the sales, Bayleys Tauranga, has garnered significant interest from pre-registered potential buyers, including many from Auckland, who are being given the first opportunity to make a purchase.

Thirty Eight Elizabeth, the development’s centerpiece, is touted as the “first of its kind” in New Zealand and stands as the largest private build outside of Auckland. CBD leaders anticipate that the presence of residents in these apartments will provide a substantial economic boost to local businesses.

The Elizabeth Towers comprise 96 apartments featuring one to three bedrooms and 23 garden villas, offering two or three-bedroom options with various configurations. The villas open onto the Sky Garden, described as an exclusive resort-style sanctuary boasting amenities like an Italian-imported 15m lap pool, spa, gymnasium, residents’ clubhouse, barbecue areas, gardening zones, and green spaces for relaxation.

The development, situated at the corner of Devonport Rd and Elizabeth St, has been in progress for four years. Despite delays caused by Covid-19 lockdowns and closed borders, it is now set to contribute significantly to the revitalization of Tauranga’s CBD.

According to Bayleys Bay of Plenty general manager Jon O’Connor, demand for these homes is anticipated to be high due to the prime location in one of New Zealand’s most optimistic and fastest-growing cities. He emphasizes the convenience of inner-city living, with all necessary amenities within walking distance.

The project manager, Brett Nicholls, highlights the unique offering of Elizabeth Towers, aiming to redefine city living in New Zealand. Online viewings are prioritized to accommodate the substantial interest, particularly from Auckland.

The media release underscores Elizabeth Towers as the largest private build outside Auckland and envisions it as a “first-of-its-kind mixed-use complex,” transforming the way people live, shop, and dine in one spectacular location.

Tauranga Business Chamber chief executive Matt Cowley and Downtown Tauranga manager Genevieve Whitson express enthusiasm and optimism about the positive impact Elizabeth Towers is expected to have on the city center’s development, with potential benefits for local businesses and the overall economic growth of the area.
