The home of the former Olympic sprinter, Dean Capobianco, and his wife, Jules, has sold above $5.4m — nearly $1m above the price guide — after just 10 days on the market.
Capobianco, who represented Australia at the 1992 Barcelona and 1996 Atlanta Olympics in the 200 metres, bought the Clovelly home for $1.46m in 2009 when they were upsizing from a $1m Darling Point apartment.
The Agency’s Bethwyn Richards and Paula Simoes had a $4.5m guide for a planned August 28 auction, but the sold sticker went up on Saturday night. When contacted yesterday, Richards couldn’t comment on the result.
Though there were evidently strong competition the minute the property hit the market, no doubt due to the stock shortage and high demand. Buyers’ agents have confirmed the home sold for more than $5.4m.
