Two friends who pooled funds to buy a $370,000 house in Christchurch have ended up in court after their relationship turned sour.
Pieter Dijksma and Daniel Freeman purchased the four-bedroom property in Medway St, Richmond, in 2015, to “get on the property ladder”.
They intended to live in the property and have flatmates to help to pay the mortgage costs.
Both parties paid $27,500 towards the deposit and although “the arrangement worked well for a couple of years”, Dijksma moved overseas in 2018 and began to miss payments.
