PHOTO: ROBYN EDIE/STUFF Angela Strang grew up in poverty and made a vow that she would be financially free by the time she had children.
Angela Strang remembers when her mum used to refill sultana boxes from bulk-bought bags so other kids at school wouldn’t know they couldn’t afford the snack-sized ones.
Strang made a vow to herself that she would be well-off by the time she had her own children and now, at the age of 33, she owns a dozen investment properties from Oamaru south with a collective market value of $2 million, founded her own home-staging business, and is about to start a family.
With a net worth of just over $1m, Strang says her early years living on the bread line in Timaru helped put her on the path to success.
