Celebrity agent Gavin Rubinstein says he has been shocked by the tsunami of people who want to work with him since Luxe Listings Sydney aired on Amazon Prime in early July.

Gavin Rubinstein opened his own business Ray White TRG in the heart of Sydney’s affluent Eastern Suburbs two years ago, but a release from the company says he has since been “blown away” by the response following his starring role in Luxe Listings Sydney.

“My inbox and social media DMs are literally bursting with resumes from all over the country and overseas of people who want to come and work at TRG. We’ve truly become a magnet of attraction.”The six-part hit reality TV show showcased some of the harbour city’s best luxury properties and the people who sell them. The agent-turned-TV-star says he has also been routinely stopped on the street by fans wanting selfies.

Amazon was so keen to get its three stars – Mr Rubinstein, Simon Cohen and D’Leanne Lewis – to quickly re-sign for a second series after the audience response in the UK and US ensured the hit show was “the most viewed Amazon original to come out of Australia”.

“Each of the protagonists thought prior to seeing the production they would have been the star of the show but the true star of this production is Sydney. She’s stunning,” Mr Rubinstein said.

“None of us are actors, it’s all real, no scripts, no dialogues. What you see is real and there were no huge bloopers either.”

His competitors all thought the show was going to be a distraction but Mr Rubinstein believes he has proven them all wrong.

Despite the increased filming commitments, he says his business has not suffered and that it’s the had the opposite effect.

The dynamic dealmaker is the fastest to reach Chairman’s Elite status in NSW in the current financial year.

One of the best days he had filming series one was for his birthday when Mr Rubinstein had already hired a house at Palm Beach on Sydney’s northern beaches but the crew couldn’t get permission to film there.

“No problem, the producers simply hired another house for the day and so I had two birthday parties with my team which were both awesome,” Mr Rubinstein said.

Broadcast filming is exempt from the current lockdown restrictions to keep the industry open and everyone involved is hyper-vigilant with regard to COVID precautions and testing.

With filming of series two already underway until December, eager fans will have to wait until early 2022 to find out which Mr White it actually was and what they wanted that day.

With film crews spotted at Brian White’s harbourside mansion a few weeks ago, fans are buzzing about the big reveal cliff-hanger in season two.
