Lower Hutt is getting a new cinema in the earthquake damaged Queensgate Mall.
Work this week started on a seven-theatre complex to replace the Events Cinema, which was demolished after the 2016 Kaikōura earthquake.
The Mall’s owner, Stride Property, has been reluctant to confirm plans for the new build, which also includes a carpark.
