Govt scraps housing grant

The Government has scrapped the Auckland relocation grant, saying it was a “piecemeal approach” to social housing issues.

However, National says this is a “desperate cash grab” on the part of the new Government.

The scheme offered up to $5000 to Auckland state housing tenants who relocated to another region.
