The Privacy Commissioner has withdrawn its guidance for landlords and property managers.
Last month, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner produced a new set of guidelines outlining what information should and should not be collected by landlords when deciding whether someone will make a suitable tenant.
In August last year, the commissioner started looking at whether some information requests from landlords went beyond what was reasonable to assess whether a person would be an appropriate tenant.
