Hamilton house prices broke a record in September, reaching a new median price of just under $600k.
The city’s median price increased 8.7 per cent, to $597,000, from September 2018, when it was sitting at $549,000, information from the Real Estate Institute of New Zealand shows.
In 2016, Hamilton’s median price was $510,000.
Across the Waikato region, the median price is $550,000 – that’s an increase of 5.6 per cent from 2018 (when it was $521,000) and 19 per cent over the last three years when the median price was $460,000.
