The Harcourts Foundation is thrilled to announce its ongoing commitment to supporting Gumboot Friday, a nationwide initiative that offers essential free counseling services for children in need.
This year, Gumboot Friday is scheduled for November 3rd, and the Harcourts Foundation, in conjunction with Harcourts New Zealand, has contributed a total of $24,000 to launch this campaign, with $12,000 generously donated by Harcourts business owners.
Since its inception in April 2019, Gumboot Friday has successfully raised over $6 million, funding more than 42,821 counseling sessions for nearly 20,000 children. Each session typically costs $150, and with the funds raised, they anticipate extending their support to an additional 40,000 to 50,000 young New Zealanders who require assistance.
Mike King, the Founding Ambassador of Gumboot Friday, expressed his gratitude, stating, “It takes a village to raise a child. To achieve our mission, we rely on the support of incredible individuals and organizations like the Harcourts Foundation. Your support empowers us to continue our mission of changing lives and safeguarding New Zealand’s children.”
Bryan Thomson, Managing Director of Harcourts Foundation, added, “Every child deserves access to mental health support, regardless of their background or circumstances. Through our contribution to Gumboot Friday, we aim to make this vital support accessible to all.”
