Accio, real estate deal! Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe has sold his Melbourne apartment to buyers he knows very well — his parents.
The English actor had used the stylish Toorak pad as a base when he was filming in Australia.
It was bought new in 2004 for $1.9 million by Radcliffe’s mother Marcia Gresham, records show, and then transferred into her son’s name just before his 18th birthday in 2007.
The actor listed the home for sale in 2015, when it had price expectations of about $2.5 million. Despite receiving three offers, he decided not to sell, expecting to spend more time in Australia for work.
But, the unit has now changed hands for $2 million, public records show, to a corporate entity based in the United Kingdom and directed by his parents Marcia Gresham and Alan Radcliffe.
The home was not publicly advertised for sale this time. Conveyancers on the deal, Good Move Conveyancing, would not comment when contacted.
