The green light is finally shining on Palmerston North’s next blue chip suburb.

The major housing development on the former Massey University Teachers’ College site, worth an estimated $130 million, has faced long delays due to zoning problems.

But construction is now set to begin in earnest after the Palmerston North City Council issued building consents for the development’s first two of three stages last Friday.

“We’re pretty pleased to finally, really get going, even if it took longer than we’d hoped,” Wallace Development managing director Jonathan Wallace said
