Auckland’s Remuera was the site of the largest number of top-end property sales in 2019, new data from the Real Estate Institute shows.
Last year, 15 residential properties changed hands for more than $5 million. The most expensive was for $8.75m.
It was well ahead of second-place Takapuna, where six homes sold for more than $5m, and Parnell with four.
Mt Maunganui and Te Aro were the only non-Auckland suburbs in the top ten, with two $5m-plus sales each last year.
“For six years in a row, Remuera has seen the most top-end properties sold in the country [prior to this it was Takapuna] and last year was no exception. With its great access to the CBD, family friendly parks, leafy streets, beautiful/historic homes and good school zones it’s easy to see why Remuera is such a popular location with buyers,” Norwell said.
