A High Court prosecution related to the sale of an Awakino property has been delayed.

Last year, the Overseas Investment Office (OIO) issued court proceedings after an investigation into the sale of a property on Fraser Smith Rd, a large farm on the west coast in southern Waikato.

Several deals related to the land came under OIO scrutiny, including the sale of the property in 2010, when it changed ownership from German businessman Karl Reipen to the Song family from Auckland, for a sum of more than $6 million.

OIO previously confirmed it had entered an agreement to resolve the proceedings and a penalty hearing was due to be held in the High Court at Auckland this month.

However, the matter has now been rescheduled for October 30.
