New Plymouth District Council tenant Julie Tunbridge said she will struggle to find another place to rent.

A New Plymouth beneficiary, recently recovered from cancer, had been left “stunned” after receiving a sudden eviction notice from the New Plymouth District Council-owned house she has rented for the past five years.

Julie Tunbridge is one of 13 people who have been asked to leave four council houses at the New Plymouth water treatment plant by May 13.

Tunbridge, and partner Mark Young, have been tenants for the past five years while her closest neighbour, Angus MacDonald, has been a tenant for 10 years.
