OPINION: I see Stuff is requesting readers send in their ‘horror stories’ of bad landlords and renting situations. It seems that every week we hear another one of these stories.
However, as a property manager for over 13 years, I would love to tell you some of my horror stories.
I have managed over 500 different properties over the years throughout the Wellington area and have come across very few bad landlords in this time. Some were of course naive and made some wrong decisions, but the vast majority were very keen to fix their mistakes and other important issues that came up once they discovered them.
