Coronavirus will “decimate” Hamilton house sales while the country is in lockdown, but the city’s real estate leaders are confident the market will bounce back once the country reverts to normality.
A week into the alert level 4 lockdown, all physical house viewings, open homes and auctions have shut down around the country.
A usual month would involve selling around 300 houses in Hamilton, Lugtons real estate director Simon Lugton said.
“At the end of April we’d be lucky if we sold ten. Sales will be decimated,” Lugton said.
