Housing New Zealand is sitting on a state housing gold mine in Auckland.

The Government’s housing agency owns 3810 single dwelling properties worth more than $1 million as of October 29, figures released to Stuff under the Official Information Act show.

Of these properties 779 are worth more than $2m, with one dwelling – the most expensive Housing New Zealand home in the country – worth a staggering $3.4m.
