OPINION: A few years ago I fell in love with a cute little Mid-century, company share, semi-detatched bach in Petone.
It wasn’t the kind of day-dream property romance you have with, say a flash villa, or glossy coastal place in Seatoun. It was more realistic than that.
For $87,000 I could have a manageable one bedroom, that might have needed a little TLC, but had its own little garden, just ten minutes from Wellington, five minutes from Petone’s cafes, bars and restaurants and two minutes from the beach and sea. Everything a single professional person could possibly want, plus, because it’s a company share, someone else to mow the lawns.
