Huge interest in container house sale, so couple have put it up for tender

A Stuff story about a small container house for sale in Hastings has drawn so many enquiries the owners have decided to put it up for tender, rather than sell by negotiation.

Matt and Ilse Heeringa of Twyford, Hastings were initially asking for offers over $165,000 for the two-container house they built themselves. But the huge interest generated by the story has been difficult to manage, so they are requesting tenders by October 5, 2018.

In the past two weeks, the viewings on the family’s Trade Me listing have jumped from just over 6000 to 42,610.
