It has been voted the country’s most beautiful town a record 16 times, but Feilding’s town centre could soon be marred with boarded buildings and demolition sites.

The landlords of two iconic buildings in the Manawatū town say the burden of earthquake-related safety demands and new time constraints in which to carry out the work mean it could be too costly, and they could walk away.
