In the 1970s, urban farming was popularised by the British TV series The Good Life, featuring Tom (Richard Briers) and Barbara Good (Felicity Kendall).
The Goods turned their property in Surbiton in to an urban farm, complete with pigs, chickens and a vegetable patch.
